Mandla has extensive experience in advising private and public sector clients on various aspects of corporate and commercial law as well as municipal law. He has over the years provided legal advisory services to corporate clients and state-owned entities. He was a lecturer of Practical Business Law and Mercantile Law at the University of Johannesburg.
Mandla has a proven track record in carrying out commercial transactions, particularly on conducting due diligence investigations and restructuring processes. i.e provided legal advisory services to Johannesburg City Parks (JCP) during the merger and/or amalgamation between JCP and Johannesburg Zoo. He was also part of the legal team responsible for the implementation of the institutional review project that was undertaken by the City of Johannesburg (COJ). The services rendered to COJ include, amongst others, advising on s78 processes and developing the Group Governance Framework in line with the principles of good governance and the legal framework governing COJ and its municipal entities.
He was part of the team that advised on restructuring and listing of Gauteng Partnership Fund as the public entity in terms of the PFMA. He has advised on the corporate and company law related issues – including drafting of the commercial and/or constitutive documents, induction manual for the board of directors and business rescue processes, etc
He was part of the MNS Team that advised Transnet on the 1064 Project, particularly on corporate governance lapses.
