Introduction

On 18 July 2025, MNS Attorneys partnered with Duduza Methodist Church of Southern Africa to deliver food parcels to vulnerable families in Duduza, East Rand. The initiative formed part of the firm’s 67-minute Mandela Day service project. In recognition of the effort, Rev. L. Nqaba, South-East Rand Superintendent, presented MNS Attorneys with a Certificate of Appreciation dated 18 July 2025. Local coverage by African Reporter highlighted how the law-firm’s contribution fed dozens of households and inspired other corporates to join similar drives.

Mandela Day Initiative

Food-Parcel Drive

  • Objective: Provide nutritious grocery parcels to families hardest hit by unemployment and rising food costs in Duduza.

  • Collaboration: Duduza Methodist Church identified households in need; MNS Attorneys supplied and packed the parcels.

  • Outcome: Over 100 parcels distributed, offering staple items (maize meal, tinned protein, rice, cooking oil, toiletries). The drive aligned with national calls to fight hunger on Mandela Day 2025.

Community Response

Church volunteers and congregants joined attorneys in sorting, packing and handing out the parcels, echoing nationwide acts of kindness undertaken on Mandela Day.
